《道德经》为春秋时代老子所著，存世二千多年，五千言字字珠玑，是我国一部哲学、社会学、政治学及军事学的不朽巨著。《道德经》博大精深的思想，已成为中国深厚传统文化不可或缺的部分，其提出的和谐理念和精神境界，正好符合构建和谐及小康社会的实践之道。
为让中学生认识我国文化瑰宝《道德经》，弘扬中国传统文化，配合特区政府推行德育教育的施政方针，本会于2011年成功举办了首届《道德经》中学生书法比赛及校际歌唱比赛，深获社会人士、学校师生、传媒的赞许，对本地区学生的德育发展起着积极的推动作用，2012年本会除继续举行上述两项比赛外，还增办“《道德经》读后感”中学生作文比赛，以抒发同学们对《道德经》章句的感悟、心得及思考评论《道德经》对当世的影响等。
